Introne Communications and SCCA’s New England Region Partner to Develop Digital Version of Historic

OXFORD, Conn. -- April 27, 2018 -- Introne Communications, a corporate marketing and content provider, and the Sports Car Club of America’s (SCCA) New England Region announced today an agreement to revamp the 74-year-old Pit Talk Magazine into a new digital publication for its 2,000 members and sportscar and racing enthusiasts across the northeast.
Established in 1946, Pit Talk has a long history of being a benchmark publication within the national SCCA family and among racing fans around the country. As the club transitions into a newer, digital age, the region Board of Directors selected Introne Communications and its founder Melissa Introne to serve as Editor for the new Pit Talk digital publication.
A 21-year SCCA member herself, Introne has a multi-generational family history with ties to the club. Her father-in-law, Robert Introne Jr., served as the Chairman of the club’s national Board of Directors; her husband, Steve Introne, has raced for over twenty years across the country in Autocross and Road Racing, competing at multiple National Championship events for both; and her three children attend races and are already volunteering at region events. She holds a National Flagging & Communication license, and has served as Crew Chief for her husband’s Autocross and SRF3 racecars.
“SCCA is a part of my family. Pit Talk has been a staple on the coffee table in our house for as long as I can remember. I’m honored to be a part of the talented group of people that will work to make this new version of Pit Talk a modern and convenient way to share all the fun, excitement, and camaraderie that goes hand-and-hand with SCCA racing,” Introne said.
"It is with the greatest pleasure that the NER Board of Directors are announcing the official continuation of Pit Talk. This has been a long and arduous project of the NER board, and we are very excited to finally have a confirmed, new direction with Introne Communications," added Sterling Cole, Regional Executive for SCCA NER.
The two organizations are currently at work developing a fresh and modern digital platform that will incorporate all the stories, anecdotes, results, and schedules that have historically been a part of Pit Talk, while integrating this content with new social media platforms that encourage members to connect, share and engage in all the news and activities related to the club.
Development of the new site is ongoing and expected to be complete by early Summer. Members, photographers, and writers interested in providing content for the new site can contact Introne directly for information on getting involved. “Our goal is for Pit Talk to reflect all the various voices that make up our club’s membership,” Introne added.
